OMGPittsburgh, Literally.

One of the most awesome things to come out of Podcamp Pittsburgh, aside from all of the amazing friends that I made, is OMGPittsburgh.

It's a community blog where those who love our fine city can write tributes to her. There are some amazing posts there, pictures and love letters to a city that keeps us bewitched by her charm.

Here is my contribution.

And I would be remiss if I did not mention that Pittsburgh's biggest cheerleader went silent today. Pitt Girl, the blogger that made people fall not just in love with the city, but with the woman herself, has retired today. The Burgh Blog is no longer.

While I respect her desire to live her life in peace and without stalkers threatening to upend her privacy, I am going to miss the hell out of her. She was our own Tina Fey. A Steel City Gilda Radner. A Black and Gold Wanda Sykes. She was our mirror and our speaker and said things that made me laugh, like fluffernutters.

So while I am glad to have great blogs like OMGPittsburgh, I am going to miss Pitt Girl. From one little blog trying to make her way, let me say, mad ups to ya, sister. I owe you. If you ever need anything, tape an X on your window. I'll know what it means.

I literally sat up in shock today when I got to work, logged on to my computer, opened my internet explorer, hit my faves, scrolled down to the Burgh Blog and IT.WAS.GONE.

She just had a great way of putting her perspective of all things Pittsburgh into humorous and intelligent posts.

MB, you got that right, she was a wonder of wonders, an eye on the beauty of the Burgh, and the humorous underside as well. She will be missed greatly! Here's to PittGirl, may she live happily ever after.
